Hello, I am the Border Officer that wished you luck as you boarded the train. I found your blog and will check in on you. I too learned of this trail a few years ago and have been dreaming and studying ever since. I get to retire in four years and my hope is to go then. I met a woman who was traveling by the moniker “Arctic Fox” on the JMT this summer, perhaps you know her? I think it was September 30th at Deer Meadows. She arrived at camp an hour after dark, looking a bit exhausted. While I made her some hot water for tea she told me that she was hiking the PCT and was determined to make Forester Pass before the 5th of October. I suspect that she made her goal. I took a photo of her. She looks a lot like you, except only a lot thinner, and certainly more pazzo.
