  3. Hello, I am the Border Officer that wished you luck as you boarded the train. I found your blog and will check in on you. I too learned of this trail a few years ago and have been dreaming and studying ever since. I get to retire in four years and my hope is to go then. Meeting you or any PCT through hiker is better than meeting any celebrity at any time. So good luck to you! Enjoy!

  4. Hey “BOG Babe” if you so choose – I was one of the Mount Hood Chapter trail crew who met you at Crest Camp. You are awesome and strong and I very much hope you complete your thru hike!

    1. Hi Cheryl! Of course I remember you and your friend! I’m still hiking with mr. President and we arrived in Snoqualmie WA yesterday. Thanks again for your nice note!

  7. It was awesome meeting you on the PCT in Oregon at the Three Sisters mountains. You were so friendly! What a coincidence that I will be driving through your hometown in September! Have a great trip!

  8. Ciao Viola
I met a woman who was traveling by the moniker “Arctic Fox” on the JMT this summer, perhaps you know her? I think it was September 30th at Deer Meadows. She arrived at camp an hour after dark, looking a bit exhausted. While I made her some hot water for tea she told me that she was hiking the PCT and was determined to make Forester Pass before the 5th of October. I suspect that she made her goal. I took a photo of her. She looks a lot like you, except only a lot thinner, and certainly more pazzo.

  9. Hello,
We met at Deep Creek and I gave you some apples and nuts from my pack. I hope you enjoyed one of my favorite places and that maybe you could plan to spend a few days sometime.
    Safe travels,
